| During 1993 Peter
Mulder restarted his art career after a layoff of 37 years and that
year attended his first workshop at the Mitchell Summer School of Art
at Bathurst, NSW. After a short period painting in oils, Peter switched
to acrylic painting, which suited his fast and maybe impatient
technique. From this point onward his career has been mostly
self-taught. Living alongside a large number of other artists in the villages of Bundeena and Maianbar on the cusp of the Royal national Park has inspired Peter with extra incentive to capture the serenity and beauty of his surrounding landscape. Peter's powerful images and vibrant painting style is also highly reflected in his love for the Kimberley in Western Australia and he regularly travels to the area for inspiration and painting. He is represented in galleries in both the east and west Kimberley. Creator of the Bundeena-Maianbar 'Art Trail', Peter welcomes visitors to his studio on the first Sunday of each month or at other times by appointment. Peter's workspace is known as 'Studio Angophora' and visitors can purchase framed or unframed works and print of local scenery and the magnificent Kimberley region. |
