By road Bundeena is 25km from Sutherland, one of
Sydney's most southern Suburbs. By sea it is a 20 minute ferry trip
from Cronulla.
By Car: Follow the signs to Bundeena, via the Royal
National Park. Travelling south, turn left off the Princes Highway 5km
south of Sutherland. Travel through Audley, climb the hill, proceed
straight ahead pass the turn off to the Anglican YouthWorks conference
Centre, continue 5-10mins and turn left into Bundeena Drive.
5km down Bundeena Drive, you will come to the turn off to Maianbar. If
you wish to start the trail in Maianbar, turn left and you will arrive
at Maianbar in about 5 minutes. If you wish to start the trail in
Bundeena proceed straight ahead and you will arrive in Bundeena in
about 5 minutes.
If you at not stopping in the Royal National Park you do not have to
pay the R.N.P entrance fee. Just tell the ranger you are going to
Bundeena and Maianabar.
If you are travelling from Wollongong, you can turn right off the
Princes Highway at Helensburg, and follow the coast road to Bundeena or
alternatively turn left at Waterfall, follow the road over the highway
and follow the road through the Royal National Park via Waterfall to
Bundeena.
By Ferry: You can catch the ferry from Cronulla to
Bundeena. The ferry wharf is located south of the Cronulla railway
station. Leaving the station turn left, walk down the street and
through the tunnel under the railway lines, walk through the park to
the wharf in Gunamatta Bay.
The ferry departs Cronulla on the half hour - from 8:30am. The ferry
departs Bundeena Wharf on the hour - the last ferry is 7pm in summer
and 6pm in winter.
