Listen to Carolina speak about her practice

Carolina Sullivan is an indigenous multidisciplinary artist born in Chile now residing in

Bundeena Australia. In her work she utilises different mediums including oils, watercolours,

acrylics, shellac and natural materials.

In 2003 Carolina completed Certificate III in Visual Arts at Nepean Tafe NSW. Carolina’s most

recent exhibition in August 2024, was in the “Trail Blazers” exhibition at Hazelhurst Gallery

Gymea. Her works have also been exhibited at “Friends on Show” 2021 and “20 Years of

Hazelhurst” 2020. Carolina has also had works purchased for The MLC Centre Sydney NSW.

Carolina draws inspiration from the natural surroundings of the beautiful Royal National

Park. Complimenting the natural textures and materials of the Australian coastal bushland,

Carolina grows her own natural fibres in her garden. Extensive preparation works are

required to wash and dry the fibres to make possible bringing her creations to life.

Weaving one day, painting the next, Carolina’s work takes her on a journey exploring the

beautiful vast surroundings and connection to the land and to the local Dharawal country.

Carolina joined The Art Trail in November 2021 and will be sharing her ongoing creations

from her home at Studio 4.
